Revenge is a dish best served cold… But recognition is even better HOT!

Plot twist! The Revenge Club has been longlisted for the Comedy Women in Print Prize 2025, and I’m absolutely beside myself with glee.

The CWIP is Helen Lederer’s brainchild, and has launched over 40 women’s careers since 2019. That’s not just a prize. That’s a comedy revolution with excellent job placement rates.

In a world determined to depress us daily, comedy isn’t entertainment. It’s survival therapy. The Revenge Club explores what happens when life serves you lemons and you decide to lob them back with laser sharp precision. My characters discover the best revenge isn’t getting mad. It’s getting laughs and getting legendary.

The longlist reads like a who’s who of brilliant women making us snort-laugh on public transport. From Marian Keyes to Sara Pascoe, we’re proving women’s humour cuts deeper than a paper cut and heals faster than male pride.

There’s very stiff competition this year. Although maybe that’s not the best description of an all-female prize! But what a thrill to be included among such wickedly funny women.

Being judged by comedy powerhouses like Susannah Constantine and Kerry Godliman feels like getting your report card from the teachers who actually made school bearable.

Whether I get shortlisted or not, the real victory is this: women’s voices are being heard, celebrated, and published. We’re not just breaking glass ceilings. We’re making them crack up first.

The Revenge Club is available now. Your funny bone will thank you.

The things I get up to when I should be writing….

I’ve added my fave pics of the people who are my human wonder bras – uplifting and supportive and make me look bigger and better. Plus the odd snap of me too. There may be a few faces you recognise – but nobody two-faced, that’s for sure.
