Watch Kathy’s address to the National Press Club of Australia
On February 19th, 2025, Kathy addressed the National Press Club of Australia in partnership with Women in Media Australia on the subject of “From Puberty Blues to Menopause Blues – to a Sensational Second Act – and Why Women Are Each Other’s Human Wonder Bras; Uplifting and Supportive.”
Kathy delved into her journey from surfie girl to feminist firebrand, examining the challenges women face in the workforce, from discrimination to the persistent pay gap, and the metaphorical concussions from the glass ceiling. She explored the domestic “second glass ceiling,” which women have not only confronted but are also expected to clean.
Her speech addressed the double standards in female sexuality and the ageist pressures that push women toward cosmetic surgery, and also aired her views on menopause which she sees as an opportunity for a “sensational second act” in every woman’s life.
